Humboldt baseball team to 7-1 overall after beating Lions, 18-3

The Humboldt baseball team improved to 7-1 overall, 2-0 in conference play by drubbing the Clear Lake Lions, 18-3 in five innings Friday night (June 4) in Clear Lake.

Cade Witzke pitched all five innings for Humboldt, which rallied from a 3-0 deficit by scoring eight runs in the second inning. Humboldt scored six in the top of the fourth to put the game out of reach as the Wildcats won via the mercy rule.

Humboldt pounds SEV, 16-0
Humboldt scored 12 runs in the second inning and went on to blast Southeast Valley, 16-0 in a non-conference game in Humboldt on June 3.

Levi Newton hit a 3-run home run to highlight a seven-run second inning, lifting the Humboldt baseball team past Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 16-3 Wednesday night (June 2) in Humboldt.

Caden Matson earned the win pitching for Humboldt, which improved to 1-0 in the NCC.

Humboldt will host Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Monday, June 7, in North Central Conference action.
