Humboldt High junior Nora Carlson earned a fifth-place medal in the Class 3A girls' state golf tournament held at River Valley Golf Course north of Adel.

Carlson, who was third after Tuesday, day one, with an 18-hole total of 78, shot an 85 on Wednesday (June 2) for a two-day total of 163, placing her in a tie with Washington's Anna Nacos.

Carlson's four-round scores in the tournament include 36-42-45-40.

Eden Lorhbach of Gilbert was the individual winner with a 149 (76-73). Kiki Bruner of Washington shot 151 (77-74). Kaitlin Hotchkiss of Xavier finished with 161 (85-76) and MEghan DeLong of Clear Lake shot 83-78--161.

Washington was the 3A team champion with 340 total. Gilbert runner-up at 357 and Clear Lake third with 389. Dubuque Wahlert had 386.
