Humboldt's Maria Elizondo making an impact on FD swim team

The Fort Dodge High girls’ swimming team fell at home to Ankeny Centennial, 128-42 in a meet at the Dodger pool on Sept. 14.

Humboldt High athlete Maria Elizondo competed in several events for Fort Dodge. She swam in the second leg of the fifth-place varsity 200-yard medley relay which clocked 2:19.38.

Elizondo was also third in the JV 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:28.51. She also swam the first leg of the sixth-place varsity 200-yard freestyle relay which timed 2:19.65.

In the varsity 200-yard breaststroke, Elizondo was sixth in 1:25.60.

Sophomore Emma Winter is also a member of the Dodger swim team. Winter returned to the lineup in Dodger meets on Sept. 21 and 23.
