Fast start powers Wildcats past Broncos, Humboldt falls at Garner

Humboldt suffered a cold shooting night in falling 60-30 at Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Tuesday night (Jan. 4). Morgan Mann scored 15 points to lead Humboldt. Marissa Kaufman and Reagan Lee each had four for Humboldt, 6-4 overall.

Chloe Frank scored 20 points and Liz Richardson had 18 for GH/V, now 6-4.

Humboldt raced out to an early lead and never let up in posting a 61-36 non-conference girls' basketball victory over the Belmond-Klemme Broncos Monday night (Jan. 3) in the Humboldt gym.

The Wildcats, 6-3 overall, were led in scoring by Morgan Mann with 28 points. Senior Alexis Hansen was next with 15 for Humboldt, which led 33-18 at halftime.

Reagan Lee finished with six points for Humboldt. Marissa Kaufman had four and Bella Opheim made four. Joie Smith finished with three and Kayla Gieber added one.

The Broncos were led by freshman Adasyn Lamb with 18 points. Allison Barrus, Molly Hartwig and Ashlynn Willms each had five.

Humboldt will host Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference play on Friday, Jan. 7.
