HHS boys edge GHV on last second basket, 48-47

Trevor Jacobson sank a 3-point basket in the final seconds to lift the Humboldt boys' basketball team to a thrilling 48-47 victory over Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Tuesday night (Jan. 4) in a non-conference game in the Cardinal gym.
Will Orness paced the Wildcats with 15 points. Caden Matson made 10. Ben Kuehnast and Josh Thurm each had 8 for Humboldt.
Humboldt is 7-0 overall on the season, 3-0 in North Central Conference play.
Humboldt returns home on Friday, Jan. 7, to host Iowa Falls-Alden in an NCC matchup.
The Wildcats will host Clear Lake on Monday, Jan. 10, in a makeup game from Dec. 10.
