Wildcat boys turn back Clear Lake, Iowa Falls-Alden

The No. 5 ranked Humboldt boys' basketball team kept their unbeaten record intact Monday night (Jan. 10) by holding off the Clear Lake Lions, 77-67 in a conference game in the Humboldt gym. The Wildcats, 9-0 overall, 5-0 in the NCC, were led in scoring by Caden Matson with 23 points. Will Orness had 15 and Jacob Heier 13 to lead Humboldt. Carson Toebe scored 29 for Clear Lake.

Humboldt earned another conference win Friday night (Jan. 7) by turning back the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets, 67-55 in a North Central Conference game in Humboldt on Jan. 7.

Will Orness scored 20 points, Caden Matson had 13, Jacob Heier 12 and Ben Kuehnast 11 to lead the Wildcats. IFA was paced by Andrew Bicknese with 17 points. Blake Janssen had 13 and Jaden Damiano added 10.

Humboldt hosts South Central Calhoun on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

The Wildcats host Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Thursday, Jan. 13.
