Humboldt girls ready for the state wrestling tournament

Led by fourth-ranked 170-pound senior Maria Elizondo (14-1), the Humboldt girls' wrestling team will take 11 athletes into the fourth annual Girls' State Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21-22 inside Xtream Arena in Coralville. Humboldt's lineup will also include sophomore Sophia Harris (6-3) at 105, senior Brett Harklau (8-3) at 120, sophomore Ava McIntire (3-7) at 120, junior Baylie Beers (15-3) at 125, sophomore Lexi Roberts (3-11) at 125, senior Adalynn Lawman (5-7) at 130, sophomore MacKenzie McMahon (5-11) at 130, sophomore Claire Weydert (10-8) at 130, junior Ashlyn Sutterfield (2-8) at 135 and sophomore Rylee Coyle (4-3) at 285.

Action both days begins at 10 a.m.
