A total of $106,396.62 in grants were awarded to Humboldt County entities by the Humboldt County Community Foundation on Thursday, March 24, in an awards ceremony held at 716 Main in Humboldt.
To date, the Humboldt County Community Foundation has granted more than $1.3 million to projects that directly impact the county. The money for the grants comes from gambling revenue proceeds distributed to each county that does not have a casino. In addition to the state allocation of funds, Humboldt County has the John and Geraldine Miller Humanitarian Fund, of which a portion of that fund is made available for grant awards as well.
