Clark ‘okay’ if NFL doesn't call

Dallas Clark gives instructions at the start of the Clark Brothers' second annual youth football camp held in Humboldt June 22-23. Clark, a Livermore native, is a 10-year veteran of the National Football League.

Dallas Clark loves being back in north central Iowa.
But if the phone continues to remain silent for the Livermore native, an unsigned, 10-year veteran of the National Football League, he just might be back on a permanent basis.
Clark had a busy weekend last week. For the second straight year, he and a group of former players conducted the Clark Brothers Football Camp held at the Humboldt High School practice facility.
“It’s great to be back and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it,” Clark said prior to the start of Saturday’s first day of camp.
Clark, a former Twin River Valley High School standout and University of Iowa all-American, played one year (2012) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a nine-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts, where he was named to the Pro Bowl squad in 2009. He won a Super Bowl ring in 2007 for the Colts. He was a first round draft choice in 2003 for the Colts.

While he continues to work out in case the phone does ring, with each week and month that goes by, Clark, who turned age 34 on June 12, is realistic his career may have come to an end.
“I have been able to play long enough now already that I’m not needing to play and I don’t have that attitude that I felt my career was cut short for whatever reasons. I’ve been blessed to play 10 years. It’s one of those things that I’m okay if no one calls,” Clark said. “I understand. That’s the nature of the business. It’s nothing personal. It’s just the way it is with this business.”
