HCMH Founder's Ball to focus on rehabilitation services

Community Development Director Gary Mortiz and Courtney Palmer with Rehabilitation Services, report on the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation's fundraising event on Jan. 19, at the Humboldt County Events Center.

During the past 10 years, the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) Foundation has raised $100,000 to help fund needed additions with the aim of improving patient health and services at HCMH.
For a 10th annual event on Jan. 19, the Foundation will be pulling out all the stops for a fun and entertaining evening with a goal of raising funds for rehabilitation services at the hospital.
This year’s event will feature a 1970s and ‘80s prom theme, “Stairway to Heaven.”
There will be a men’s Prom Queen contest with around 10 male celebrities dressing as prom queens, showing their softer side for heart healthy awareness.
After the Prom Queen fashion show, attendees will be able to boogie to the sounds of the Omaha, NE area band Velvet Crush, featuring the vocals of Humboldt native Jami Olson.
“It should be a light-hearted, fun-filled evening with a goal of raising as many funds as we can to assist the rehabilitation department at HCMH,” hospital Director of Community Development Gary Moritz said.
