HHS wrestlers win title at Clarion
Humboldt's varsity wrestling team notched another title on Saturday, this time winning the Glen Brand Invitational Tournament at Clarion (Dec. 15).
Humboldt finished with 241 team points. Host Clarion-Goldfield totaled 211 while Hampton-Dumont finished with 152. Belmond-Klemme (76), Eagle Grove (59), Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (48) and Southeast Webster-Grand with 43.
Winning titles for Humboldt was Kylie Zender at 113 pounds, Austen Gargano at 126, Tyler Rutz at 152, Nikko Wheeler at 182, Reed Dreyer at 195 and Dylan Hendricks at 285. Colton Schnetzer was second at 160, as was Jacob Miller at 138, Zane Russell at 120 and Levi Sawyer at 106. Mike Madsen earned third at 132, along with Adam Mickelson at 170, Thaylan Bowman at 145 and Cordes Olthoff at 220.
