Ashley Wittrock has joined the staff of the Humboldt Public Library as Early Childhood Librarian.
Ashley is in charge of planning and running story time for eight different day cares, Head Start and school age visits from Mease, Taft and St. Mary’s, plus she goes off-site to a couple of preschools and to St. Mary’s Pre-K. She also catalogs and orders books and does office work in the library.
Ashley’s new 25-hour a week position was created when Children’s Librarian Sarah Evans became Director of the Humboldt Public Library and retained some of her duties in the children’s department as well.
Wittrock is an Algona native, graduating from Algona High School in 2007. She went to Iowa Central Community College and obtained a general Associate of Arts degree in 2009. She went on to Iowa State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in child, adult and family services in 2011. She was involved in child care before joining the library staff in August.
