Panther girls upended by N-K, H-LP
Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne’s girls met up with Northwood-Kensett (Jan. 17) and Harris-Lake Park (Jan. 18) last week and lost by games by scores of 66-40 and 59-14.
The Panthers, 1-13 overall on the season, wed led in scoring by Megen Studer with five points in their game with H-LP. Cold shooting hampered the Panthers.
The night before at home with N-K, Sadie Poldervaart scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked five shots in a 66-40 setback to N-K. Studer was next with 11 points.
“We’re playing as hard as we can with what we’ve got,” CWL coach Kevin McPeak said. “The Studer girl is playing well, but she gets keyed on a lot. She’s getting double and triple-teamed and so we need the other girls to become more consistent. At times we look really good, like we did against Northwood-Kensett. But other moments we would fall apart. Sadie had a nice game against N-K.”
CWL hosted CAL on Jan. 21 in a make up game from Dec. 20. They visit West Bend on Jan. 25 and travel to North Union on Jan. 29.
