Wildcat girls pull away for 41-24 victory over Cowgirls
Kessa Kuyper scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Avery Terwilliger finished with 10 points and six steals to lead the Humboldt High girls' basketball team past Clarion-Goldfield, 41-24 in a North Central Conference game in the Humboldt gym on Jan. 10.
Lauren Friesth and Maddie Thomas each had seven points for the Wildcats. Abbey Gargano added five points and Maggy Duffield had two. Humboldt outscored the Cowgirls 24-8 in the second half to break open a 17-16 halftime lead.
Humboldt, 5-5 overall, 5-4 in the NCC, hosts Fort Dodge Senior High in a non-conference game on Jan. 13, starting with the ninth grade girls at 4:30 p.m., followed by the JV and varsity.
