Wolverine girls fall in regional final

No. 4 Janesville ends WBM/GCB season

No. 4 ranked Janesville lived up to its ranking by turning back the West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate volleyball team in three sets on Oct. 31.
In a Class 1A Regional Tournament final at Eagle Grove, the Wolverines fell to the Wildcats by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-11. Janesville, 31-8, advanced into this week’s state tournament in Cedar Rapids while WBM/GCB ends its impressive season with a dazzling won-loss record of 29-5.
McKenzie Grimm made five kills to lead the Wolverines at the net. Emily Bormann and Heather Fehr each had four. Courtney Bargmann made 12 assists while Kayla Banwart and Ashley Schmidt each had 10 digs. Jennalynn Thul made two aces on 9-of-9 serving.
