Humboldt pulled away in the second half en route to a 73-51 non-conference victory over Manson-Northwest Webster Saturday night (Dec. 14) in the Humboldt gym. The Wildcats, now 4-1 overall, 3-1 in the NCC, had 11 players score in the game, led by Brady Ross with 14 points and Thomas Orness with 13. Austin Zylstra and Jack Curran each had nine.
HUMBOLDT 79, EAGLE GROVE 34
Jaxon Heinz scored 18 points, Nick Heider made 17 and Thomas Orness added 16 to lead the Humboldt boys' basketball team to a 79-34 drubbing of the Eagle Grove Eagles on Dec. 13 in Eagle Grove. The Wildcats hit nine 3-point baskets in the game. They opened with a 14-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. Kenny Kuyper added eight points and Brady Ross had seven.
Humboldt will visit Algona on Dec. 17. They host Webster City on Friday, Dec. 20, in their final game before the Christmas break.
