The Humboldt High girls' track team finished second in the team scoring at the Mason City Mohawk Relays on May 6 while the Humboldt boys took fourth in the Algona Relays.
Humboldt's girls won four events, led by senior Sam Larson who was a double winner, taking the 3,000-meters in 11:08.03 and the 1,500-meters in 5:13.11. Maddie Kampen was first in the 800-meters in 2:31.56 while Humboldt also captured the 4x800 relay in 10:16.0. The relay consisted of Brittney Nilles, April Jones, Beth Duffield and Kampen.
Senior distance runner Jacob Miller won the 3,200-meters in 10:30 to lead the Humboldt boys at Algona. The Wildcats got a runner-up finish from Tyler McKibban in the discus.
Humboldt's girls will compete in the North Central Conference meet in Clear Lake on May 12 while the boys will run in the NCC meet at Hampton the same day. The state qualifying meet is May 15 at Nevada (4 p.m.)
