The Humboldt High soccer team went 1-2 on the day in the Waverly-Shell Rock tournament on Saturday, May 10 in Waverly. Humboldt opened the day with a victory over Postville. The game was scoreless after regulation then HHS won on a PK shootout. HHS fell 1-0 to Benton Community, then lost to Decorah in a PK shootout after another scoreless regulation. The Wildcats are now 5-6 on the season and visit Iowa Falls on Monday, May 12.
The Humboldt boys' golf team tied for third in the team scoring of the Gilbert Tournament on Saturday in Ames. HHS totaled 316 strokes, same as Ballard Huxley. Host Gilbert won the meet with a 311 total while South Hamilton shot a 314. Jaxon Heinz led the Wildcats with a 76 over two rounds. Casey Kayser, Brenden Schnell and Christian Birdsell each had 80. The Wildcats will golf in the conference tournament at Webster City on Monday, May 12.
