Twin Rivers Principal Don Hasenkamp reported on strong scores from the recent Iowa Assessments testing, to the Twin Rivers Board of Education last week.
“We met both our reading and math goals according to the recent Iowa Assessments,” Hasenkamp said. “For reading our goal was to have 50 percent of third through fifth grade students score in the proficient range based on the National Assessment Standard Score. Nine-five percent or 18 of 19 of our students in those grades are in the proficient range.”
“We tested our second grade this year as well and only 28.5 percent are proficient, so we have some work to do,” Hasenkamp said.
“For math our goal was to have 50 percent of the third through fifth grade students in the proficient range. 89 percent or 17 of 19 are in the proficient range. We tested second grade there and there are 43 percent students proficient, so again we have some work to do,” Hasenkamp said.
