HUMBOLDT – Humboldt opened its boys' track season Friday night (April 5) by hosting the annual Charlie Bunn Relays. The Wildcats finished in a tie for sixth place in the team scoring with 41 points. Algona took the team title with 151 points, followed by Manson-Northwest Webster at 147, Pocahontas Area at 67, Webster City with 47, Kuemper Catholic of Carroll fifth at 45 and Humboldt and Eagle Grove tied with 41 points. Emmetsburg was eighth with 19 points.
Humboldt's top finish on the night was Jacob Miller winning the 3,200 meters in 10:40.85. He was also second in the 1,600 meters in 5:04.90. The Wildcats run next at Fort Dodge on April 9. They are at Eagle Grove on April 11 in a makeup from April 2. The Wildcats travel to Forest City on April 12.
