Humboldt exploded for 21 third quarter points en route to a 34-14 victory over the Algona Bulldogs Friday night at Mason Maach Field in Humboldt. The victory kept the Wildcats unbeaten on the season at 4-0 overall, 2-0 in Class 3A District 3 action.
Humboldt, which led 7-0 at halftime, got three touchdowns from quarterback Jaxon Heinz and two from Brady Ross. Heinz passed to Jack Curran and Austin Zylstra for touchdown strikes, and ran for another. Ross had runs of 40 and six yards as the Wildcats powered their way to a 28-0 lead after three quarters of play.
Humboldt will travel to Clear Lake Friday, Sept. 27, for a key district showdown with the unbeaten Lions.
