Humboldt's girls finished third while the boys took fifth-place in their respective team scoring of the annual Eagle Grove Dick Bell Invitational cross country meet held Oct. 8. Humboldt's girls finished with 63 team points to finish behind Gilbert (38) and Spencer (56). There were nine teams in the field. Sam Larson ran second overall in 15:30 to pace Humboldt while Maddie Kampen was fourth in 16:06.
Humboldt's boys finished with 134 team points. Algona won the meet with 57 and Gilbert was second with 60. Garner-Hayfield/Ventura/West Hancock was third at 88 and Clear Lake fourth with 103. Jake Miller ran 15th overall to pace the Humboldt boys. His time was 17:32. Michael Bowden was 22nd in 18:08.
Humboldt will run in the North Central Conference meet on Oct. 15 in Eagle Grove.
