Dallas Clark signs with Baltimore Ravens

Looks like Dallas Clark’s pro football career isn’t over just yet. Clark, a veteran free agent tight end, signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday (Aug. 11). The 34-year-old Clark of Livermore had been an unsigned free agent since the end of last season, when he played in 2012 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Previously, he had spent nine seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. Clark, one of the more productive tight ends in the NFL over the last decade, has 474 catches for 5,322 yards and 50 touchdowns. Clark graduated from Twin River Valley High School in 1998 and went on to earn All-American status at the University of Iowa. He was a first round draft pick by the Colts in April of 2003, the 24th pick overall.See complete story in the Aug. 15 issue of the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Peters healthy, ready to contribute at Iowa State

There probably wasn’t anybody more excited to be standing on the field at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames last Sunday than Gilmore City native Levi Peters. It was media day at Iowa State University and Peters, a multi-sport athlete at Twin River Valley and Fort Dodge Senior High, was dressed in his Cardinal and Gold uniform. After being sidelined due to knee and foot injuries the last two years, Peters is healthy and ready to contribute on the Cyclone football team. “It feels good to be healthy and be in camp. Getting ready for the season and competing,” Peters said. “But the main thing I feel good about right now is my health. I feel real good.” See the complete story in the Aug. 15 issue of the Humboldt Independent Newspaper. Subscribe for full access to the print and electronic editions of the Independent.
