HHS girls fall at Algona, 47-42

Wildcat boys to 5-1 with 72-58 victory over Algona

Humboldt's varsity boys' basketball team buried Algona with nine 3-point baskets and strong defense en route to a 72-58 victory over the Bulldogs in Algona on Dec. 17. Humboldt improved to 5-1 overall on the season, 4-1 in the North Central Conference.Nick Heider and Jaxon Heinz each scored 13 points to pace the Wildcats. Wildcat wrestlers go 5-0 in Ogden Duals

Humboldt won all five of their duals in the Ogden Dual Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 14. The Wildcats defeated Greene County 48-29, Carroll 53-29, Woodward-Granger 59-18, Gilbert 55-24 and Carroll Kuemper Catholic 63-15.Humboldt, 11-0 on the season, will host Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Humboldt boys pound MNW, 73-51

Humboldt pulled away in the second half en route to a 73-51 non-conference victory over Manson-Northwest Webster Saturday night (Dec. 14) in the Humboldt gym. The Wildcats, now 4-1 overall, 3-1 in the NCC, had 11 players score in the game, led by Brady Ross with 14 points and Thomas Orness with 13. Austin Zylstra and Jack Curran each had nine.HUMBOLDT 79, EAGLE GROVE 34Jaxon Heinz scored 18 points, Nick Heider made 17 and Thomas Orness added 16 to lead the Humboldt boys' basketball team to a 79-34 drubbing of the Eagle Grove Eagles on Dec. 13 in Eagle Grove. The Wildcats hit nine 3-point baskets in the game. They opened with a 14-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. Kenny Kuyper added eight points and Brady Ross had seven.Humboldt will visit Algona on Dec. 17. Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team earned their second straight victory by rolling past Eagle Grove, 70-26 in a North Central Conference game at Eagle Grove on Dec. 13. The Wildcats led 19-0 after the first quarter and held a 40-6 halftime.Humboldt, now 2-3 overall, 2-2 in the NCC, visits Algona on Dec. 17. Humboldt wrestlers win key NCC double dual

Humboldt's varsity wrestling team won a key North Central Conference double dual last week (Dec. 12) when they defeated Clarion-Goldfield (44-27) and Algona (63-15).
