The debate over which college has a better football team, Iowa or Iowa State, is always good for coffee shop, water cooler and now social media fodder. This year, Humboldt will have a chance to up the intensity about the college rivalry when WHO-TV news and sports comes to town with its RVTV (recreational vehicle television crew) broadcasts on Wednesday, Sept. 9, leading up to the Saturday, Sept. 12 kickoff between the Hawkeyes and the Cyclones. The station has traveled to different locales during the week of the big game for a number of years. The station will be doing live remote broadcasts from Sumner Avenue in downtown Humboldt as part of its 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 p.m. newscasts. In an effort to make the day a fun event for the community, the Humboldt/Dakota City Chamber of Commerce and the city of Humboldt have become involved. Activities will be going on in downtown Humboldt from 3:30-10:30 p.m.
