Humboldt won 4 events and placed third in their annual Humboldt Relays track and field competition on Monday, April 24. The Wildcat girls finished with 127 team points. Area powers Pocahontas Area (164) and Algona (140) finished ahead of the Wildcats.
Humboldt's first place events include the 4x400 and 4x800 relays, along with Bryce Gidel in both the 1,500 and 3,000 meters. The 4x400 relay consisted of Olivia Hildreth, Beth Duffield, Kate Curran and Gabby Kent. The 4x800 relay included Olivia Hildreth, Lauren Erickson, Curran and Gidel.
Humboldt will compete in the Storm Lake Relays on Thursday, April 27. The Mason City Relays are set for Tuesday, May 2. Humboldt will travel to Iowa Falls on May 4 for the North Central Conference meet. In addition, Gidel qualified for the 3,000 meters high school division of the Drake Relays this week in Des Moines. Gidel will run at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday night.
