Swanson Motorsports ready for 2019 season

Swanson Motorsports of eastern Iowa is preparing ready for the 2019 professional drag racing season.

Humboldt County natives Afton and Joe Swanson, are set to begin their new season this spring. Their main corporate sponsor is Arnold Motor Supply.

Humboldt boys win Algona Relays title

Humboldt's varsity boys' track team captured another team title on Monday night (April 29) by winning the Algona Hackbarth Relays.

Humboldt will now focus on the North Central Conference meet to be held May 2 in Humboldt, starting at 5 p.m.

"We backed off for this meet as we have conference later this week. In spite of that we saw some very nice things. We were very close to breaking some very good meet records and several of the kids set new personal records in different events," Humboldt head coach Greg Wickett said.

"We were able to get some final seed times for future races and get just the tune-up we needed for our final push to the end of the season. It was a step forward and hopefully it will pay off in the next couple of meets," Wickett said.
