Wildcat boys in 57-33 victory

Humboldt’s boys opened their basketball season in good fashion by turning back Manson-Northwest Webster, 57-33 in non-conference action on Dec. 3 at Manson.

Jamison Heinz scored 18 points, Jacob Thurm made 12 and Gabe Gidel added 11 to pace the Wildcats.

Humboldt will travel to Ogden on Dec. 10 for another non-conference game.

Humboldt girls top Cadets, Cougars, fall at Pocahontas

Humboldt’s varsity girls basketball team opened their season at Manson on Dec. 3 by stopping the Cougars of Manson-Northwest Webster, 55-48 in a non-conference game.

Jori Hajek scored 20 points to lead the Wildcats. Bae Arnold and Jayda Hoefer each had 8 for Humboldt.

The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season in a 61-58 non-conference setback at Pocahontas on Dec. 5. Kendal Clark scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to power Humboldt. Mady Lange added 16 points.

Humboldt opened its conference by turning back Iowa Falls- Alden, 44-33 in Iowa Falls on Dec 6. The victory moved Humboldt to 2-1 overall, 1-0 in the NCC.

Humboldt will play host to Bishop Garrigan of Algona on Monday, Dec. 16.
