Lange earned all-region honors at Iowa Central

Mady Lange

Working toward nursing degree

By Phil Monson

Former Humboldt High standout Mady Lange accomplished a lot in her first year at Iowa Central.
The 2020 HHS graduate became the starting catcher for the Triton softball team and earned first-team all-region honors. She also made big strides towards earning her degree in nursing.
“I feel great about how my first year at Iowa Central went. I’m super glad I chose Iowa Central. I felt like I really improved as a player on the field and I learned a lot more than what I knew in high school,” Lange said.
“Coach Doug Van Pelt’s program taught me a lot in high school, but playing at the next level with other coaches and having another set of eyes helped me grow my skills,” Lange said.
“And it’s fun playing with a new team in college. I feel like I have improved a lot as a player and as a teammate. I’ve learned even more about playing the game of softball,” Lange said.
