Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday at Rec Center parking lot

The annual Noon Kiwanis Easter egg hunt will be this Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Humboldt Rec Center east parking lot. Additional parking will be available at the school. In case of rain the event will be moved to the Humboldt Middle School gym. Independent file photo.

The Humboldt/Dakota City Noon Kiwanis in conjunction with the city of Humboldt Recreation Center, is pleased to announced that the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Humboldt is back and moving outdoors this year.
The hunt will be Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 a.m. on the east parking lot of the Humboldt Recreation Center. There is additional parking available at the Humboldt High School and Humboldt Middle School lots.
There will be candy and prizes for three age groups, preschool, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grades.
Each of the age groups will be eligible for a grand prize of a large Easter basket with toys and games and a great grand prize of a new bicycle!

Wildcats win 3 events, place 3rd in Dodger Relays

The Humboldt boys' track team won three events and placed third in the team scoring of the Fort Dodge Dodger Relays on Monday, April 4 in Fort Dodge.

Kaleb McCullough won the shot put with a throw of 46-feet. Caden Matson won the 400-meter hurdles in 58.89 seconds and the shuttle hurdle relay took first in 1:02.40. The relay consisted of Jordan Coon, Corey Dettmann, Keegan Groat and Caden Matson.

The Wildcats will host a four-team meet on Tuesday, April 12, after the Bunn Relays were cancelled on April 8 due to inclement weather.

Humboldt is slated to compete in the Forest City Relays on Thursday, April 14.

Wildcat boys upend Clear Lake in OT, 4-3

Cristhian Ramirez scored two goals and Isaiah Kahl and Nolan Gustafson each had one to lift the Humboldt boys' soccer team to a 4-3 victory over the Clear Lake Lions Monday night (April 4) at Clear Lake.

The triumph moved Humboldt's record to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in North Central Conference play.

The Wildcats are slated to host Iowa Falls-Alden on Thursday, April 14, at 5 p.m.

Wildcat girl upend Lions, 2-1

Lily Allison and Elsie Hubbell each scored a goal in the second half to lift the Humboldt girls' soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Clear Lake Monday night (April 11) in Humboldt.

The victory moved the Wildcats' season record to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the North Central Conference.

The Wildcats return to action at Iowa Falls on Thursday, April 14.
