Spencer edges Humboldt baseball team, 4-3

The Humboldt baseball team ended their regular season in a 4-3 loss at Spencer on July 5. The Wildcats move to 24-4 overall.

Humboldt 3, Storm Lake 2
The Humboldt baseball team boosted their season record to 24-3 by edging Storm Lake, 3-2 in Humboldt on Monday night, July 3.

Humboldt totaled six hits in the game to back the pitching of Isaiah Busick, Ty Gargano and Jayden Gargano, who limited Storm Lake to just two hits. Evan Hatcher homered for Humboldt. Josh Thurm, Riley Sorensen, Busick, Trever Beach and Mason Van Pelt each had a hit for the Wildcats.

Greene County tops Wildcat softball team, 10-5

Greene County of Jefferson handed the Humboldt softball team a 10-5 loss in a non-conference season finale at Jefferson on July 3.

Reagan Lee homered and drove in three runs for the Wildcats, who fell to 18-11 overall. Addie Thompson was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored.

Humboldt's pitching duties were shared by Abby Armitage and Elsie Hubbell.

Next action for Humboldt will be the Class 3A regional against Algona on Thursday, July 6 at 7 p.m.
