Rutland mayor makes Christmas bright

Mayor of Rutland, Susan Tille, left presented six bikes and $4,900 to Upper Des Moines Opportunity Outreach Director, Alisa Schlief. The bikes and money were raised by Tille after she heard that 68 children in Humboldt County would not get bikes through the popular Bikes for Tykes program due to a decrease in giving this year. Tille credits the generosity of Humboldt County Residents for her success in raising the needed funds in just under a week. Humboldt Independent photo by April Kelley.
