Three generations of Hatchers proudly served

Jerry Hatcher surprised his family returning home for Christmas in 1966. This family photo was taken New Year’s Day, Jan. 1,1967. Front row from left: Jean, Mary, Lee and Jackie Hatcher. Back row from left: Joe, John, Mick, Barb, Betty, Jerry and Bill Hatcher. Photo by Saul Studio, submitted.

By BETTY (HATCHER) ZENTNER
As long as I can remember, there was always a U.S. flag flying in front of the home where I grew up. My Dad did not want it to be taken down in stormy weather. He insisted that the flag could endure any storm, just like the American people do. We were raised to love and honor the flag and our country.
It has been 50 years since I left my home on Hatcher Hill and I have continued my father's tradition of always flying the Stars & Stripes.
