Dam sale put on hold once again

BY APRIL KELLEY
The sale of the Reasoner Dam to the R.I.V.E.R. Development, Inc. (RDI) group is one step closer to becoming a reality following a public hearing. Unfortunately, there are still several steps to go.
No one spoke in opposition to the sale of the dam during the hearing.
While there wasn’t any opposition to the sale, there also isn’t a document for the transfer of ownership yet.
Humboldt County Conservation Director, Todd Lee informed the supervisors that he has been working closely with Ahlers and Cooney to iron out a contract. The venture is proving to be a bit more difficult due to the unusual circumstances associated with the sale.
“The lawyer said it’s kind of a unique thing and we will get that document when we get that document,” T. Lee said.
The sale of the dam is contingent upon the legal document to ensure that all of the contingencies are spelled out before the sale goes through.
