Sparboe fire destroys maintenance shop

An early morning fire, Tuesday, Jan. 14, fueled by 45 mile per hour winds, destroyed a maintenance shop and its contents at the Sparboe Farms egg production facility at 2088 120th St., near the Humboldt/Webster county line. The fire was reported around 8 a.m. Badger Fire Chief Glen Westling reported that a worker who went to get a piece of equipment discovered the fire and called the fire department. Local fire departments from Clare, Vincent and Humboldt provided assistance at the scene.
