HHS boys top CL, CGD in NCC golf

Humboldt scored a key conference golf win by topping Clear Lake and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in Humboldt Friday night. The Wildcats edged CL by the tie-breaker as both finished with 151. CGD shot 170. Austen Gargano and Brenden schnell each had a 37 to pace HHS. Humboldt opened their season at home Friday night (April 10) by posting a nine-stroke victory over Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon at Humboldt Country Club. Humboldt shot a 158 while the Indians totaled 167. Christian Birdsell shot a 36 and Brenden Schnell a 38 to lead Humboldt's scoring. Casey and Kelly Kayser each had a 42.Humboldt will return to action at Emmetsburg on Monday, April 13.
