Community welcoming to new doctor team

The excitement in the Humboldt medical community is almost hard to contain. The husband and wife doctor duo of Dr. Ryan Wood and Dr. Megan Wood announced last week that they would be moving to Humboldt with their three children. “What made Humboldt stand out to us was the community, the people. People really care about each other. They’re honest. They’re people we can trust. That sets your community apart,” Dr. Ryan Wood said. “Michelle (Sleiter, Hospital CEO) and the community are the nicest people we have ever met.” The two doctors are currently practicing in Florida. They initially said they would be moving to Humboldt next summer, but said the timetable might be sooner. “We’re excited to get to Humboldt. Our goal is to take care of patients, create relationships. My wife and I truly believe in that. We look forward to helping people, but we also believe the community will help us,” Dr. Ryan said.
