Humboldt School District embraces social media

In case you haven’t already found out – the Humboldt Community School District is embracing social media. The school is now officially on Twitter with the use of Facebook and other Internet media tools on the horizon. High school instructor Greg Wickett and elementary teacher Rachelle Mau, who serve as technology integrationists, gave a presentation to the Humboldt School Board Monday night (Mar. 21) on the district-wide effort to utilize social media to expand communication. “A couple of months ago we got together and started talking about ways we can use technology to reach more people, reach our students, reach more parents and generally increase our ability to let people know what’s going on,” Wickett said.
