$2.28 million paving contract approved
A large pavement resurfacing project by dollar standards will net the county about 10.5 miles of improved roads in the coming months. At Monday’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisor’s meeting, the five-member board unanimously approved three secondary road resurfacing projects with Manatt’s Inc. of Brooklyn, for a total project cost of $2,286,382.05. All three of the projects will be concrete paving. The board decided last fall that the application would be a good fit for the stretches of road in question, with an increased life expectancy projected. The roads being resurfaced are County Road C-26 from Highway 169 to States Avenue (5 miles) and from States Avenue to the town of Hardy (2.5 miles). The other is County Road P-59 (Badger Blacktop) from the intersection with County Road C-48 to the Webster County line (3 miles).
