The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved a permit for trail grooming with the Humboldt County Sno-Skimmers snowmobile group at its meeting on Monday, Oct. 24.
The permit will be in effect from Nov. 1 to March 31, 2017.
Under the agreement, the club is allowed to groom trails in the east and south ditches of paved county routes only, no gravel roads. The group agrees to conduct operations with regard to the safety of the traveling public and adjacent property owners. The Sno-Skimmers agree to hold Humboldt County harmless for actions conducted by the group. The club agrees to maintain $1 million in liability insurance. Snowmobiles will not be allowed on the traveled portions of the roadway, and trail signs will only be allowed during the time period prescribed (Nov. 1-March 31).
