The city of Humboldt reminds residents that it is time to get picked up and cleaned up for the spring. There are several dates residents should be aware of regarding spring cleanup.
This Saturday, April 9, is the date for open burning of yard waste within the Humboldt city limits. Open burning of yard waste and garbage is prohibited within the city limits and violators may be fined up to $100.
On Monday, April 11, the city of Humboldt will be collecting brush and sticks. All branches and brush must be cut in lengths of seven feet or less and branches should not be greater than six inches in diameter. All brush should be placed curbside by 6 a.m.
Junk day for the city of Humboldt begins Monday, May 2. All items should be curbside by 6 a.m. that week. All appropriate items will be collected by Friday, May 6. There is a limit of one truckload per household. Dakota City will also have its junk collection the week of May 2.
