Livermore man killed in single-vehicle crash
A Livermore man is dead after his vehicle left the road and rolled several times in rural Kossuth County, north of Livermore Monday night, Aug. 22.
According Iowa State Patrol Trooper Josh Missman, the accident occurred on a rural Kossuth County gravel road, 1012 150th Ave., about 900 feet north of County Road C-12.
The driver, Desiman Stone Jr., 19, of Livermore, was traveling northbound on County Road P-56 (Ohio Avenue) in Humboldt County, when he ran the stop sign at the intersection of County Road C-12. He continued north on 150th Avenue, where he lost control on gravel. The 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix that Stone was driving left the roadway and rolled several times. Stone was not wearing a shoulder and lap belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There was an estimated $5,000 damage to the 2005 Pontiac he was driving.
The accident remains under investigation.
Assisting the Iowa State Patrol at the scene were the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, the Livermore Fire Department, the Kossuth County Medical Examiner, Main Street Towing and Lentz Funeral Home.
