HHS runners in Ballard Invitational

Humboldt's boys placed ninth while the girls were 10th in the Ballard Huxley Invitational cross country meet at Huxley Monday night (Sept. 12).

Humboldt's boys were paced by Gabe Thumma who finished 37th in 19:40. Darlin McDaniel was 47th in 20:42 and Hayden Hansen 48th in 20:45. Jayden Gargano ran 50th in 20:49. Justin Ash was 56th in 21:15.

Brynn Malo was 21st in 21:41.2 to lead the Wildcat girls. Meg Zweibohmer was 44th in 24:10.1 while Alana Malo was 46th in 24:27.5. Josley Orr finished 55th in 25:29.3 and Elsie Stattelman was 57th in 25:42.6.

Des Moines Christian won the boys team title while Gilbert captured the girls title.

Kayla Young of Solon was the overall winner in 19:27. Aaron Fynaardt of DM Christian paced the boys race with a winning time of 15:59. Humboldt will run at Clear Lake on Sept. 15.
