Wildcat girls win team title at Emmetsburg

Humboldt crowned four individual champions and won the team title of the Emmetsburg Invitational tournament on Saturday, Nov. 18.

The Wildcats ran away from the field by scoring 263 points. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock was runner-up with 169. Eagle Grove was third at 130.5.

Winning titles for Humboldt was Brooklyn Robinson at 235, Claire Weydert at 135, Laina Dettmann at 120 and Sophia Harris at 110 pounds. runner-up finishers were Claire Dieleman at 100, Lexi Roberts at 130, Ella Olson at 145, Danica Diedrick at 170 and Kennedy Robinson at 190.

Robinson, Hubbell win titles at Fort Dodge
Brooklyn Robinson won the 235-pound class and Elsie Hubbell won at 155 to lead the Humboldt girls, wrestling team to a 3rd place finish in the Fort Dodge Early Bird Tournament on Thursday night, Nov. 16.

Algona was first at 184.5 and Fort Dodge second at 114. Humboldt scored 102 points, followed by Des Moines Public Schools 96, Boone 82 and Eagle Grove 75.

Also for Humboldt, Sophia Harris was second at 110 and Claire Weydert second at 135. Ella Olson was third at 145, as was Danica Diedrick at 170. Laina Dettmann was fourth at 120, as was Claire Dieleman at 100.

Next action for the Wildcats will be the Iowa Central area school Invitational on Nov. 21.
