Humboldt boys are NCC golf champs! 2nd in 3A sectional

Just two days after winning the conference tournament title, the Humboldt boys' golf team hosted a Class 3A Sectional Tournament on May 8 at Spring Valley Golf Course north of Livermore and finished runner-up in the team scoring with a 304 total. North Polk was the team champion with 296 while Webster City was third at 307. All three schools advance into a district meet in Carroll on Monday, May 13.
Humboldt senior Carson Sleiter was runner-up medalist in shooting a 73. Jacob Eagan of North Polk was medalist with a 71.
Humboldt's Cade Birdsell fired a 75, Corey Dettmann shot 77, Carson Arndt 79, Parker Sleiter 79 and Cyler Cirks 81.
Arndt is individual medalist
Carson Arndt fired a one-over-par 72 to lead the Humboldt boys’ golf team to the championship of the North Central Conference tournament held on Monday, May 6, at Fort Dodge Country Club.
Arndt, a senior, shot rounds of 38 and 34 to earn individual medalist honors. Freshman Cade Birdsell was sixth overall in shooting 37-40—77 while senior Carson Sleiter shot 40-39—79.
Humboldt finished with 309 strokes to top runner-up Clear Lake, which shot 317. Webster City was third with 318 and Algona was fourth with 331. Nathan Manske of Algona was runner-up medalist with a 74.
Humboldt also had Parker Sleiter with 40-41—81, Corey Dettmann at 41-43—84 and Cyler Cirks with 43-46—89.
