Humboldt girls team champs at Emmetsburg, 4th at Clear Lake
Humboldt's girls won the team crown while the boys were third in the Emmetsburg E-Hawk Invitational on Sept. 16. The Wildcat girls totaled 20 points to outdistance runner-up Estherville-LC which had 61. The Wildcats' Brynn Malo was first among the large-school field of runners with teammate Aubry Fisher second. Malo ran 22:33.3 and Fisher 23:58.1. Bella Metli was fourth in 25:54. Macey Rodgers fifth in 26:31.6 and Meg Zweibohmer eighth in 27:00.
The Wildcat boys totaled 56 points to finish behind North Iowa (37) and ELC (46). Henry Kramer paced the Wildcats by running sixth in 21:34.3. Justin Ash was eighth in 21:47.6 and Jaden Nimrod ninth in 21:49.8.
Humboldt's girls placed fourth in the Clear Lake Invitational on Sept. 19. Brynn Malo was second individually to pace the Wildcats with a time of 20:47.9. The boys were ninth as Henry Kramer led the way by placing 40th in 19:55.2.
Humboldt's girls won the team championship at the Estherville Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Brynn Malo was second, Aubry Fisher fourth and Bella Metli eighth to lead the Wildcats. Henry Kramer was eighth to lead the boys to fifth place.
The Wildcats host their own invitational on Sept. 23 at lower Sheldon Park in Humboldt.
