Wildcat girls 2nd, boys 5th in Humboldt Invitational cross country
Led by Brynn Malo's third-place finish in 21:17.41, the Humboldt High girls' cross country team placed second in the team scoring of their own invitational on Monday, Sept. 23.
The Humboldt boys finished fifth and were led by Justin Ash in 16th-place with a time of 19:36.80.
Fort Dodge St. Edmond was the girls team champion while Lake Mills claimed the boys' title.
Humboldt's girls placed fifth and the boys were 13th in the Algona Invitational on Monday, Sept. 30. Brynn Malo ran seventh to pace the Wildcat girls with a time of 20:44. Aubry Fisher was 13th. Henry Kramer ran 43rd in 19:15 to lead the boys in a large and elite field of teams and runners.
Next action is Oct. 8 in the Dick Bell Invitational at Eagle Grove.
