Humboldt girls too much for FDSE, 64-41
Morgan Mann scored 17 points and Ava Fischer had 12 to power the Humboldt girls basketball team to a 64-41 victory over Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Tuesday night, Jan. 7. Ava Newton and Kaitlyn Nelson each had nine points and Paige Nelson had seven for the Wildcats, who improved to 5-4 overall, 3-1 in the North Central Conference.
Palmer scored 16 to lead St. Edmond, which fell to 2-6 overall, 0-4 in conference play.
Humboldt played at Belmond-Klemme on Thursday, Jan. 9, and lost a 56-39 contest to the Broncos. B-K jumped out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and held a 16-8 third quarter advantage to improve to 6-4 on the season.
Humboldt will host Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday, Jan. 10.
The Wildcats visit South Central Calhoun on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
