Wildcat girls 3rd in NCC track

Humboldt totaled 74 points and placed third in the girls' North Central Conference track meet held on May 8 in Iowa Falls. Clear Lake won the team crown with 194 points. Algona was runner-up with 153. Webster City was fourth with 69, along with St. Edmond at 69, Iowa Falls-Alden with 60, Hampton-Dumont-CAL at 56 and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last with 51.

The Wildcats had several top three finishes in the meet. Brynn Malo was third in the 800-meters in 2:26.74 and Aubry Fisher was second in the 1,500-meters in 5:16.72. Fisher was also second in the 3,000-meters in 11:14.27. Humboldt's distance medley relay was second in 4:32.14.

The Wildcats will now gear up for the state qualifying meet in Nevada on Thursday, May 15, starting at 4 p.m. The top two finishers in each event, along with the next eight best performances statewide, advance to the state meet in Des Moines on May 22.
