IDDA Executive Director updates Supervisors

By APRIL KELLEY

DAKOTA CITY - John Torbert, Executive Director of the Iowa Drainage District Association, gave an update to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Monday morning, Oct. 13.

Torbert stated they have started to have summer meetings for the drainage administrators following suggestions during a break-out session at the annual conference.

This year was the third year for the extra summer session and Torbert told the supervisors that it has been such a success that they are considering expanding the session from its current three hours.

“That might be tricky because then it would involve a meal and things but it has been so popular that it is hard to fit it all in,” Torbert said.

“We don’t have an agenda, we just say we are going to be there. I go as Executive Director, Doug Struyk is legal counsel and Mona Bond is a lobbyist and we just say whatever you want to talk about, we are going to talk about,” Torbert said.

The annual meeting will be held Dec. 5 in Fort Dodge at the Crossroads Events Center.
